The UK and Europe have an abundance of tributaries that have yet to be maximised in terms of energy generation. With the introduction of the UK’s feed-in tariff in early 2010, there is a real possibility for developers and landowners to create revenue with multiple hydro schemes. These can be developed in many locations within the UK, utilising sites which would not usually benefit from built assets. Davis Langdon is currently working with developers and landowners to formulate business strategies to maximise these assets.

The skills we are able to offer include:

  • Risk and opportunity management – from business strategy to construction delivery perspective, we maximise the revenue streams through defining the right solutions
  • Purchase and supplier engineering – analysis of the whole supply chain, including company capabilities and subsequent performance
  • Project controls – delivering on time and on budget through integrated processes and systems
  • Commercial and procurement management
  • Grid connection solutions – viability, supported by commercial negotiations with utilities
  • CDMC advice
  • Funding and tax advice
  • Programme office support services
  • Legal/commercial advice for dispute resolution
  • Project management throughout
